Zags love Spokane for being a vibrant city that supports Gonzaga so much it feels like a college town. With four distinct seasons, students will find new activities and events every few months.
We enjoy a vibrant city culture, from a great food and coffee scene, to outstanding concert venues, to beautiful urban parks. There are opportunities to explore the city and the surrounding area in spring, summer, winter, and fall, or check out some of our favorite restaurants in the city.
What about the outdoors? Just minutes outside the city limits you'll find world-class hiking, skiing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting. Gonzaga Outdoors leads over 100 trips a year, and strives to give as many students as possible the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful local surroundings and to connect with the outdoors and each other. Student trip leaders provide dozens of opportunities to explore throughout the year, starting with Gonzaga Out of Bounds (GOOB), a pre-orientation trip in western Montana, and later on, weekends spent backpacking, whitewater rafting, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing, and more!
