Families and Friends,

As the school year comes slowly to a close, and your zag is reaching their graduation date, we wanted to provide you with some information about graduation day, caps and gowns, ticketing, and other helpful information.

Undergraduate commencement will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Payment is required to park at the arena

Participating students are allowed 6 guest tickets, there will be no extra ticket administration. Beginning April 14, 2023 students will access the TicketsWest website for Gonzaga Commencement at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Students must utilize their Gonzaga ID number (enter as "promo code") to access up to six guest tickets. Once seats are selected, they can transfer to another person via email or text from the system.

Tickets will be scanned at the guest entrance gates for guests. Students in academic regalia will be required to show university ID for entry.

Accessible seating is available; please see crowd management staff when you arrive

Clear Bags: Each venue requires clear bags only, no larger than 14”x14”x6”. Other bags will not be permitted, and you will be asked to return them to your vehicle. No storage is available at venues.

Graduating Student Ceremony Regalia: Custom rental attire is required for student participation in the ceremonies. Visit the Commencement Resources page for order and return details.

Flowers: Pre-ordered flower bouquets will be available at the ceremony venues, as well as other products. Visit the Commencement Resources page for details.

Prohibited Items: Please note the following items that attendees cannot bring into the ceremony venues:

  • Alcohol
  • Outside food and beverage
  • Large signs and umbrellas
  • Non-clear bags
  • Firearms (even with carry permits)
  • Noisemakers

Bachelor (undergraduate), must order custom rental ceremony regalia from Herff Jones by April 1 at 9 p.m. PST. Choose the ship-home option for delivery within two weeks or pick up from the Zag Shop beginning May 8.

Students pose for three photographs during the stage-moment experience. Proofs will be available within a few days following the ceremony. More information on the photography vendor will be available soon.

Flower bouquets will be available for purchase near the entrance of each venue on ceremony day. Pre-order information will be available soon.

Each ceremony and Mass are live web-streamed from a link available on event days. These events will be recorded and available on the Gonzaga YouTube channel within a week.

Students can upload photos and a message for a personalized digital keepsake, including the stage moment, within a few days following the ceremony. Students will receive instructions and deadline information in the mid-Spring Semester.

Health and Counseling Services offer a limited number of wheelchairs for rent during ceremony weekend, for use on campus only. Please contact (509) 313-4053 for more information.

Custom yard signs, keepsake caps, and tassels are available for purchase at the Zag Shop!
